NOTES: Except for isolated instances in 1857, 1862, 1866 and 1888 the HOGAN family was either not listed or not discernable in any public records, census or city directories until 1900. It is my hope that baptismal records for Patrick's and Thomas' children will eventually surface and shed some light on the family's early years. The other families: HANDY, WORTH, DONOHUE and MCMAHON were more visible and easier to trace.
