Amy Evans Songs
Amy Evans, b. Oct 24, 1884, Ynishir, Wales, d. Jan 5, 1983, Baltimore, Maryland, USA Our thanks to David Hoehl for these digitizations of two Amy Evans songs recorded in 1924 for U.S. Columbia. Ms. Evans writes in her personal notes that the masters for this recording session were destroyed in a truck accident These discs are the first confirmation that we've had that they existed. The name Arthur Bergh was written on the labels, suggesting that Bergh, a famous accompanist of the era, may have been pianist on these numbers.
